Buyer Representation Is the agent who shows me homes representing me? Not unless you have a written agency agreement! The agent showing you homes may be representing the seller. If the agent represents the seller, everything you say may be carried back to the seller, giving the seller the advantage while negotiating. You can hire an agent to represent you and your best interests. With a Buyer Brokerage Agreement in place, anything you say is strictly confidential and the agent you have hired has the responsibility to withhold confidential information from the seller. It is to your benefit to decide up front in what capacity you want your agent working for you. Many states, including Idaho, require up-front disclosure on this subject. The "Carr Team" offers Buyer Representation (or Buyer Agency) at no additional cost. The fee is still being paid by the seller.
